Luckshot Games has revealed that its 3D platformer adventure Big Hops will launch on January 12, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game focuses on fast movement, creative level design, and a unique frog-tongue mechanic that shapes almost every action.

Big Hops follows Hop, a young frog who is suddenly taken from his home by a spirit named Diss. While Diss insists he has an important mission, Hop only wants to return to his family. To help him, an old Raccoon offers to build an airship, if Hop can gather the missing airship parts hidden across several separate worlds. Each world has its own story, characters, and problems, pushing Hop to decide whether he is helping others out of kindness or simply doing whatever it takes to get back home.

The game draws inspiration from classic platformers like Mario, Sonic Adventure, A Hat in Time, and even the open exploration of Breath of the Wild. Movement is at the heart of the experience where Hop can roll, dive, run on walls, climb freely, swim, grind on rails, ride minecarts, and more.

The tongue mechanic is the game’s standout feature as Hop can grab items, pull himself up walls like a hookshot, swing through areas at high speed, and even perform silly tasks such as “lick-picking” locks. Everyday actions like opening doors or flipping switches use the tongue as well, creating constant fun moments and strange interactions.

Another key part of Big Hops is the use of Veggies, special items that help Hop create paths and solve problems. Since he can only carry one item at a time, he relies on a Backpack with unlockable slots to store different Veggies.
