City-builder Pompeii: The Legacy comes from Croatia and lets you rebuild Pompeii

Last month, we spoke with veteran developer and Siscia Games founder Željko Kos, and today he officially announced the game we briefly mentioned earlier. Pompeii: The Legacy builds upon the genre in which Kos is well established, considering his work on titles like Patron and Aquatica, though this time, he will be self-publishing the game.

The game is set during the Roman Empire, where players take on the task of rebuilding Pompeii after its devastation in 79 AD. You will guide a Roman family across more than 200 years and encounter historical figures such as emperors Trajan and Marcus Aurelius. The game includes a detailed campaign where you’ll manage the city’s reconstruction and use trade routes to ensure prosperity.

As with any city-builder, your city will be dynamic, requiring resource management, construction of infrastructure such as roads and aqueducts, and fulfilling citizen needs. Pompeii also introduces active and passive bonuses through family traits, with two main research branches: technology and philosophy. Special attention is drawn to the various disasters that may strike your city, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, fires, locust swarms, and epidemics, any of which can impact your settlement at any moment.

It has also been revealed that Pompeii: The Legacy will be available in 2025 for PC via Steam.
