Developer Irregular Shapes and publisher Firesquid have confirmed that City Tales – Medieval Era, a charming city-building strategy game, will be released in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2025. A demo version is available now until March 3, 2025, as part of the Steam Next Fest, giving players a chance to experience the unique blend of building, storytelling, and medieval atmosphere.
In City Tales – Medieval Era, you take on the role of a medieval ruler tasked with transforming a humble encampment into a prosperous kingdom. The game combines classic city-building mechanics with innovative features, such as an urban planning tool that allows you to draw districts and construct over 40 unique buildings. But what truly sets City Tales apart is its emphasis on story and narrative.
As you build your kingdom, you will be joined by various companions, characters who assist in the development of your city and whose stories you can shape. Each of them brings their own skills and personalities, and their development is closely tied to the success of your kingdom.
