Developer Death Kumiai and publisher Flashlight Games have confirmed that the story-driven roguelite RPG Annihilated will launch on Steam on July 22.

It blends dungeon crawling, deckbuilding, visual novel storytelling, and psychological horror into a surprisingly ambitious package. The story begins after a legendary hero’s party disappears deep within a cursed dungeon. You are the lone survivor of a rescue expedition sent to find them. Unable to fight on your own, you must rely on the broken remnants of the fallen heroes to survive the horrors waiting below.

One of the game’s most intriguing ideas is that you can’t save everyone. Across four distinct story routes, you will build relationships with different party members, make difficult choices, and ultimately decide who makes it out alive.

Combat combines turn-based card battles with timing mechanics that reward both strategy and quick reactions. Meanwhile, weapon durability adds another layer of risk, allowing you to sacrifice equipment for powerful temporary bonuses.

With more than 200,000 words of narrative, multiple endings, and a dungeon designed to feel relentlessly hostile, Annihilated looks set to deliver a much darker experience than its colorful visuals initially suggest.
