Abylight Studios and Frictional Games have released a new trailer for SOMA, revealing that the sci-fi horror classic will launch on Nintendo Switch on July 24, 2025. Set deep beneath the Atlantic Ocean, the game takes players on a journey exploring themes of identity and consciousness. Remastered for Nintendo Switch and fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2, SOMA promises to deliver the same gripping experience that captivated players since its 2015 debut.

For those unfamiliar, SOMA comes from Frictional Games, the studio behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Filled with psychological storytelling, the game holds an 84 Metacritic score and is widely praised as a masterpiece of the genre thanks to its powerful narrative. It tells the story of PATHOS-II, an underwater research facility where communication is cut off, supplies are dwindling, and machines begin to believe they are human.

Unlike many similar games, SOMA features no combat. Instead, you’ll need to rely on stealth, creativity, and quick thinking to avoid danger or escape. In other words, you’ll explore atmospheric environments, solve puzzles, and make meaningful decisions that shape the story.
