After launch, Dungeonborne reached 25,000 concurrent players and maintained those numbers over the past 24 hours, according to SteamDB. Projections indicate the numbers may rise over the weekend.

Compared to Dark and Darker, which shortly after release peaked at 57,000 concurrent players and maintains around 30,000 daily players, Dungeonborne’s launch is still quite impressive.

The biggest difference is that Dark and Darker isn’t fully free. The free version allows players to create one character, play Normal mode on all maps, complete quests, and collect loot. However, most of the game’s content isn’t available without purchasing the Legendary Status upgrade for 30 $.

On the other hand, all content in Dungeonborne, including classes, skills, maps, modes, shared stash, character slots, custom games, and various systems (such as legacy), is available for free. You can experience the entire game at no cost.

However, while trading will be available to all players, creating auction listings will require an “Auction Membership Card.” According to Mithril Interactive, this serves two purposes: generating revenue to support further development and preventing abuse, ensuring players can find truly valuable and rare auction items without being overwhelmed by countless trivial listings.

Additionally, players can purchase the Mithril Satchel DLC for 9.99 € to support the developers, which includes an exclusive torch, cloak, healing potions, and throwable items.
