A new Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy featurette shows how Sophia can use light to navigate dangerous environments and overcome obstacles.

Titled “Look for the Light,” the short PC Gamer showcase follows Sophia into dark, enclosed locations where illumination appears to provide both guidance and protection. Players will need to identify light sources and use them to create a safe route through areas consumed by shadow.

“When cornered by the shadows, always look for the light,” the accompanying description explains. It adds that Sophia’s journey will take her into “deep dark places,” encouraging players to use available lights to their advantage.

The footage reinforces the game’s focus on environmental problem-solving, even as developer Asobo Studio takes the series in a more action-oriented direction. Previous gameplay presentations have revealed that Sophia is a more capable fighter than Amicia, with direct melee combat, dodging and parrying joining exploration and puzzle-solving.

Resonance is set approximately 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem. The prequel follows a 22-year-old Sophia as she confronts secrets connected to her past, long before she meets Amicia and Hugo.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches on August 27, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on release day.
