Publisher Akupara Games and development studio Moonlight Kids have announced that Echo Weaver, a fast-paced “metroidBRAINia” style game, will be released for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in 2025. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
Echo Weaver offers a unique adventure, telling the story of a destroyed society trapped in a fatal time loop. You play as the last Weaver, the remaining member of that society, who must uncover the secrets of their world and their own past. This is achieved by exploring beautifully hand-painted biomes, seeking help from peculiar survivors, and following clues.
Each time loop presents an opportunity to solve the mystery; you will have to hone your skills, explore new paths, collect powerful “Echoes,” and unlock game-changing secrets and shortcuts. By gaining knowledge, you will be able to reshape the timeline and master the loop, thereby forging a new destiny for those trapped within it.
The game stands out with its innovative “metroidBRAINia” design, where knowledge is the only key resource. Unlike classic Metroidvania games that rely on upgrades and unlocking equipment, Echo Weaver focuses on discovering secrets and finding new ways to navigate the world.
