Everdream Village Aims to Be a “Sequel” to Everdream Valley, But Risks Being Another Basic Cozy Game

Everdream Village, the next project from Mooneaters and VARSAV Game Studios, hopes to carry forward the charm of 2023’s Everdream Valley while expanding its world into a larger, more ambitious life simulation. Published by Untold Tales, the title launches in Early Access on December 12, 2025 on PC via Steam.

On paper, Everdream Village is a natural evolution of its predecessor. Instead of restoring a small magical farm, players now shape an entire settlement from the ground up. The Early Access version promises the full suite of core systems from day one: farming, terraforming, genetic animal breeding, villager relationships, and a collection of “cozy” side activities. A broader story expansion, additional islands to explore, and more animal species are planned for the full release, which will eventually arrive on PC and consoles including PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Even though Everdream Village is bigger than the last game, it is joining a very crowded genre. New, bright-colored farm-life games show up on Steam almost every week. The first game, Everdream Valley, was generally liked for its atmosphere but struggled with cohesion and pacing. It is fair to ask if this new game will be a real improvement or just use old assets with only small changes.

For now, Everdream Village looks less like a story-based adventure and more like a free-form life simulation. There’s no fixed storyline; instead, you settle into a village where relationships, routines, and organic progression take center stage. NPCs have their own personalities, moods, and daily schedules. As affinity grows, villagers step in to help with chores or farming, and the community itself reacts dynamically to your choices, whether through decoration, pest control, or how animals are cared for. Romance is hinted at but not yet confirmed.
