LightBulb Crew, the studio behind Othercide, has released the first official gameplay trailer for its new turn-based tactics roguelite Ex Sanguis. The reveal took place during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted 2025, where the developer also announced that more players will be invited to join the ongoing playtest.
Ex Sanguis gives players an important strategic decision: they can rush directly toward the boss for a faster run, or take time to grow stronger by gathering resources and building their team. Both fast and slow approaches are encouraged, and the game promises a wide range of abilities that allow players to experiment with different team builds and synergies.
Following its showcase, LightBulb Crew pushed several major updates to the Steam playtest build and is actively asking for community feedback. We tried the game earlier this year and came away disappointed, and you can learn more about that experience in our earlier coverage here.
The updated playtest now includes a new “City” biome and a mission type centered on destruction, along with a fresh enemy type. There is also a new team management system, a dedicated management screen, and improvements across difficulty, interface, and stability.
Ex Sanguis will first launch in Early Access on Steam, with plans to bring the game to consoles later.
