LightBulb Crew, the French-Swedish indie studio known for the cult title Othercide, appeared at Tacticon 2025 with its tactical roguelite Ex Sanguis, while simultaneously launching a public Steam playtest. The game will first arrive in Early Access on PC via Steam, with plans for console versions in the future.

You play as Stilla, an elite warrior fighting the forces of Stasis to restore life to a dying world. Every drop of blood symbolizes rebellion, painting the monochrome arenas with vivid shades of red. This striking visual style is paired with a new progression system that gives you full control over the pace of play. In other words, you can jump straight into a boss fight or spend time gathering resources and strengthening your team for a safer approach.

Ex Sanguis also introduces innovative mechanics like timeline manipulation, allowing you to speed up, slow down, or reorder turns to outsmart enemies. The environment plays a crucial role: you can destroy objects, ignite foes, or block their line of sight. Physical effects such as knockbacks, forced repositioning, and flanking bonuses further enrich combat, while procedural levels ensure variety and replayability.
