A new indie publisher has officially entered the gaming industry, and its founders are already familiar faces to many developers. Former shareholders and founders of Coatsink have announced EdCorp, a new company focused on funding, publishing, marketing, and developing games for PC and consoles.

The team behind EdCorp brings decades of experience to the table. Collectively, its founders have worked on projects such as Jurassic World Aftermath, Batman: Arkham Shadow, Gang Beasts, Kingdom Two Crowns, Onward, PHOGS!, and ISLANDERS.

EdCorp says it plans to offer flexible funding options and revenue-sharing agreements that can provide developers with up to 75% of revenue after costs. In an industry where funding has become increasingly difficult to secure, that’s likely to catch the attention of many independent creators.

The company has already signed three projects, with the first publicly revealed title being GARBAGE COUNTRY from developer Thomas van den Berg, known for creating Cloud Gardens and Kingdom. Described as a post-apocalyptic road trip adventure, the game blends exploration, survival scavenging, tower defense mechanics, and cozy driving gameplay.

According to EdCorp’s leadership, the company’s goal is simple: help talented developers bring their ideas to life during a period when many independent studios are struggling with uncertainty and financial pressure.
