On Tuesday, June 23rd, April Grove quietly launched on Steam. Priced at just €3, this cozy title from Colorgrave invites you into a pixelated forest where you can unwind through meditative gameplay. If you enjoy slow-paced, relaxing adventures like Stardew Valley or A Short Hike, here’s why you should dive into this mystical tree-cutting experience.
In April Grove, you play as a forester in a tranquil, enchanted woodland. Your job is to chop trees, collect logs, and uncover the secrets of the forest community. This retro-inspired game blends life simulation, exploration, and light RPG elements in a pixel-art world reminiscent of the Game Boy Advance era. With no enemies, timers, or pressure, everything moves at your own pace.
You’ll exchange logs for gold, which can be spent on upgrades like better axes, necklaces, or food buffs. Every swing earns XP, improving your logging skill and allowing you to tackle larger trees while unlocking new areas of the forest. You can also choose between a male or female character, customize your gear, and interact with animals for various outcomes.
