Horror Action RPG Withering Realms Launches in Fall 2025

Moonless Formless has announced that Withering Realms, an eerie horror action RPG, will be released in Early Access on Steam in Fall 2025, with the full version and console releases to follow later. The game is set in a world transformed by a mysterious occult event, and you will play as the nine-year-old girl and spirit, Clover, who controls a guardian doll while uncovering the dark secrets of the town of Penwyll.

The game combines elements of horror, action, and RPG into a unique experience. As Clover, you will use her spectral abilities to navigate the dangerous world, while the doll serves as both protector and weapon. Its missing right arm can be equipped with various custom tools, such as a revolving greatsword, a stone chain, a machine gun, or a flamethrower, allowing you to customize your combat and exploration style.

The game also introduces a dynamic day and night cycle. Returning to previously explored areas at night reveals new creatures and hidden secrets, adding a layer of tension and exploration. During your journey, you will encounter allies like Althea, a brave freelance investigator who uses her skills in interrogation, lockpicking, and forgery to unravel Penwyll’s darkest mysteries.
