Project Loki Renamed to SUPERVIVE, Open Beta Launching Later This Year

Project Loki, a free competitive hero battle royale game, has been officially renamed to SUPERVIVE, as announced by its development team Theorycraft Games. The open beta is scheduled for late 2024, with a public playtest available from June 27 to July 4. Interested players can sign up for the test here.

In each session, teams of four players jump into a vast sky-world, aiming to be the last team standing as the battlefield shrinks due to a deadly storm. Teams drop onto a massive map, kill monsters, and complete various objectives to gain levels, rare powers, and equipment. These advantages help defeat enemy teams, uncover unique strategies, and engage in fluid combat. The game also promises to avoid any pay-to-win elements, offering only cosmetic unlocks.

Beyond that, the game features open-ended powers, items, abilities, and environmental interactions such as jump pads, wall building, and sliding. Players can also engage in aerial battles, and the fast-kill mechanic ensures that matches stay quick-paced.

SUPERVIVE introduces innovative revival mechanics as well. You can revive downed teammates while still fighting, use deathbox resurrections to bring back fallen allies, and perform full-team revives at reanimation beacons. Additionally, the “most wanted” power can revive your squad if the player survives long enough or secures enough kills.

Key features of SUPERVIVE include the main mode, SQUADS, with 10 teams per lobby (40 players total), each with four players. Matches last around 20 minutes, and additional modes include duels and 4v4 deathmatch. Over 15 hunters will be available during the playtests, with more in development.

Each hunter comes with a primary weapon, four abilities, and a passive. Hunters can be unlocked through regular play via the Hunter’s Journey pass. There are three main hunter archetypes:

  • Fighters, who deal high damage with low to medium utility;
  • Protectors, who offer moderate damage and supportive abilities;
  • Controllers, who deal moderate damage and specialize in space-control abilities.
