ProbablyMonsters has announced a new first-person narrative horror game Ire: A Prologue, which is set to launch on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 28. This title is inspired by 80s and 90s horror and puts you in a time loop on a haunted ship with a “terrifying” monster.

In Ire: A Prologue, you play as a teenager named Emily, whose father has vanished. The only clues to his disappearance are on a ship lost deep in the Bermuda Triangle. To find him, you must unlock 13 mysterious doors hidden in the ship’s dark corridors while being relentlessly stalked by a monster.

The relentless monster also reacts to your actions, forcing you to use stealth mechanics to survive. You must sneak around the ship, using clever hiding spots and vents, and making noise to distract the creature. The smarter you get, the smarter the monster becomes.

Ire: A Prologue is just the beginning of a new franchise. It sets up a deep narrative and introduces the many mysteries that will unfold in the larger series.
