Survival fans will be able to step into a harsh medieval world shaped by disease and despair quite soon. Survival settlement RPG Nested Lands will enter Early Access on January 23 for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GOG, according to publisher META Publishing and developer 1 Million Bits Horde. Console versions are planned for the full release at a later date.

Set during the Black Death, Nested Lands places full control of a struggling settlement in the hands of a lone survivor. The journey begins with nothing more than empty land and constant danger. Food must be gathered, buildings raised, and defenses prepared while deadly plague outbreaks sweep through the region. Bandits roam the countryside, and twisted creatures born from the disease lurk nearby.

Keeping people alive means balancing survival needs, mental health, and even basic hygiene. As the plague worsens, hard choices become unavoidable, and small mistakes can spiral into disaster. The tone stays grounded and grim, pushing tension not just through combat, but through responsibility and long-term planning.

The Early Access version expands greatly on earlier builds, shaped by feedback from the community. The plague system is now deeper and more dangerous, with several stages that force tactical choices. Combat and stealth have been reworked to feel more smooth, while villagers behave more intelligently and respond better to commands. Management tools are clearer, automation is easier to control, and many small improvements smooth out building, progression, and the interface.

An updated demo will also arrive in the coming weeks. It includes a cooperative mode for up to four people, offering a chance to explore part of the world together before the Early Access launch.
