Co-op roguelite survival game MISERY, developed by Platypus Entertainment and published by Ytopia, has officially entered Early Access on Steam today, October 23, 2025. The launch follows a hugely successful showing during the recent Steam Next Fest, where its demo quickly became one of the most-played titles, positioning the game as a potential next viral hit in the indie multiplayer space.

Drawing heavy inspiration from S.T.A.L.K.E.R and the cooperative scavenging of Lethal Company, MISERY throws you into a tense, post-nuclear apocalypse. Early reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with the full game already holding a “Very Positive” rating on Steam shortly after launch, praised for its atmospheric dread and accessible take on the hardcore looter-survival genre.

MISERY is designed for 1–5 players and centers around a core loop that combines resource management with cooperative risk:

• Scavenging Runs: Players venture out into procedurally generated locations to loot resources, gear, and powerful artifacts. Success depends on carefully managing vitals, including hunger, thirst, stamina, and, critically, radiation and stress.
• Combat and Threats: The Zone is filled with dangers, including armed bandits, hostile survivors, mutated creatures with unique behaviors, and unpredictable environmental anomalies. These anomalies are hazards that can kill instantly but can also yield powerful, reality-distorting artifacts.
• Bunker Management: Returning to base before nightfall is crucial. The acquired loot is used to expand and customize the shelter with crafting stations, generators, food gardens, and decoration. Downtime can be spent at a basement bar, trading with a merchant or relaxing with friends, which helps manage the crushing psychological stress.

The game is available exclusively on PC via Steam for 9.99 €, with a 10% introductory discount dropping the price to 8.99 € until November 6, 2025.
