Motion Twin, the studio best known for Dead Cells, has released the new Fungal Bloom update for its fast-paced roguelite Windblown. The game is currently in Early Access, with a full release planned for 2026. Fungal Bloom update brings major changes to the game’s world, new gear to master, and several improvements that make high-speed co-op play smoother and easier to manage.

The biggest change comes to the Fungal Swamp, which has been fully reworked in both look and feel. This refreshed biome sets the stage for one of the update’s key additions, Cuprik’s Hammer. This new weapon is unlocked through a story quest and focuses on quick combos that lead into a powerful finishing move called the Alterattack. When charged, it creates strong frost rifts that hit enemies hard, and it works especially well with the new frost-based trinkets and gifts added in the update.

Combat options have also grown thanks to three new trinkets hidden across the Lost Archipelago. Fury, Wind Gust, and Ethereal Blades open up new ways to fight, from sending piercing ghostly blades through enemies to pushing attacks away with strong gusts of wind. With more build choices than ever, players can now save and swap between up to six loadouts at the Tower. This makes it much easier to switch setups when playing solo or teaming up in three-player online co-op.

The update also puts more focus on the Ark, the game’s main hub, by adding systems that tie gameplay and story closer together. A new Resource Converter lets you trade currencies and take advantage of daily deals, while Cuprik’s Forge now allows several items to be crafted before heading out on a run. Story content has expanded as well, with new quests for characters like Cuprik and Sigourney that explore the past of fallen warriors.
