I downloaded the demo for Roulette Hero during Steam Next Fest, just planning to play a little before bed. That was a mistake; three hours later, I was still playing, cheering for a lucky spin that saved my fox team from a giant robot. This strategic roguelite deckbuilder from CLLC Studio mixes animal squads and chance wheels. Plus, the full game launches on October 24, 2025 on PC via Steam.
The game gets you involved fast: you are a hero building a team of furry fighters to defeat giant mechanical monsters. You choose from 13 animal types, like fast hares for quick attacks or strong bears to hold the line, and build your deck from over one hundred unique units. Each unit has special tricks, from fire attacks to damage-blocking shields. But the real fun starts when you line up your cards on a spinning roulette wheel and let chance choose the action.
That wheel is the most important part, turning safe plans into huge wins or funny losses. If you land on the right spot, your rabbits might chain a lightning storm that zaps the boss. If you hit the wrong spot, guards will quickly swarm you. The demo lets you try this in a few levels across three modes: quick runs for practice, tough challenges, and endless waves for grinding.
What keeps me playing is how the game balances smarts and luck without feeling unfair. You carefully build your team, looking for power-ups like speed boosts or extra spins to help your chances. However, the wheel still adds great tension – do you risk a big spin for the kill, or play it safe and attack slowly? The battles get harder over the 20 launch levels, throwing surprises like fire on the ground or enemy swarms that force you to change your plan quickly.
