A game that blends soulslike progression with tactical deck-building, Death Howl, is officially set to release on PC via Steam on December 9th. Developed by the three-person team at The Outer Zone and published by 11 bit studios, the game promises a minimalist presentation that tackles raw, emotional themes. Console versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch are also currently in development and are scheduled to launch in 2026.

The game tells the story of Ro, a mother from a shamanic tribe who refuses to accept the loss of her child. In a desperate act driven by grief, Ro descends into the hostile spirit world to fight for a second chance. The journey unfolds as a metaphorical passage through sorrow, survival, and acceptance, framed as a hunt where every enemy demands careful study.

Battles play out on a grid, requiring precise movement and positioning in addition to card-based attacks. As players explore, each region introduces not only new enemies but also new cards, active abilities, and passive skills. These discoveries allow you to constantly tailor and refine your deck, shaping your tactical approach to the changing biomes.
