Space Scum, an upcoming tactical RPG set in a dystopian comic-inspired world, blends strategy and combat. It’s developed by Sole Survivor Games, known for Honey, I Joined a Cult, in collaboration with publisher Forklift Interactive, the team behind Cash Cleaner Simulator. The first gameplay trailer reveals a dark atmosphere and complex mechanics, and a demo will be available in August. You can find Space Scum on Steam.

In Space Scum, you play as the leader of a mercenary company on the outer rim of space, aiming to build the most powerful and feared crew in the galaxy. Combat is turn-based, and each mercenary brings unique skills. But danger lurks everywhere: the permadeath system means any fallen mercenary stays dead forever.

Rewards, XP, and loot earned from successful missions let you buy new weapons, upgrade ships, and hire fresh talent to replace fallen teammates. Specialists include precision snipers, hackers dealing with complex defenses, and heavily armored fighters who absorb damage and protect the squad.

Every run of Space Scum is unique thanks to procedurally generated planets and customizable origins for your mercenary company. You’ll encounter various environments, enemy types, and mission objectives. Cooperation and conflict with different factions further shape your journey, alliances form and break easily in the hunt for power.
