Publisher ARTE France and French indie studios Swing Swing Submarine and La Poule Noire have announced that Looking For Fael will launch on July 16 for Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.

The upcoming 3D narrative puzzle adventure follows a mysterious disappearance inside an apartment that has transformed into a surreal labyrinth. Players return home to discover that their roommate, Fael, has vanished, leaving behind only a cryptic voice message claiming to be “lost in the apartment.”

As players investigate, the apartment defies reality. Rooms seamlessly connect to one another, corridors loop endlessly and familiar spaces become dreamlike reflections of Fael’s memories, fears and imagination. Armed with a retro handheld device known as the Game Leaf, players must explore the shifting environment, solve environmental puzzles and uncover clues that gradually reveal what happened.

The developers describe Looking For Fael as an experience built around environmental storytelling and intuitive spatial puzzles, taking players through imaginative locations that range from impossible apartments to lush, overgrown interiors. Throughout the journey, the game explores themes of creativity, friendship and the search for personal meaning.
