Studio Echo Division has announced its new project Echoes Below, a tactical shooter set on a mysterious archipelago. The game will be available on Steam in an Early Access version, though the exact release date is not yet known. Echoes Below combines elements of survival and horror, delivering an experience where every decision and every resource can mean the difference between life and death.
In Echoes Below, survival is not limited only to combat. The game blends tactical skirmishes with deep mechanics, including dynamic weather, realistic day-night cycles, and changing seasons that affect visibility. Gathering supplies, managing hunger, thirst, and body temperature, and adapting to seasonal changes are crucial for survival in this relentless world. Resources can be collected by hunting, fishing, cutting down trees, and scavenging the environment, while advanced materials like metal can be found in hostile strongholds or at various locations across the hand-crafted open world.
Additionally, the game allows for the building and fortifying of bases, from primitive shelters to fortified strongholds, which can be customized for various functions such as crafting, defense, and resource production. Furthermore, it is possible to collect decorative items from locations of interest or craft them independently. The crafting system allows raw materials to be converted into tools, weapon upgrades, and the expansion of scarce ammunition supplies.
Echoes Below also introduces innovations to tactical gameplay through a series of military vehicles. Armored jeeps allow movement over difficult terrain, boats patrol dangerous waters, and helicopters provide rapid air deployment. These vehicles are not just a means of transport, but also serve for quick troop deployment. In addition, the drone system offers real-time reconnaissance and precise artillery support.
