Publisher Fast Travel Games and developer MoonHood, a studio founded by veterans behind Lost in Random and Fe, announced The Midnight Walk. This first-person dark fantasy adventure is unique not only for its gripping story but also because the entire game is crafted from clay.
Players take on the role of “The Burnt One,” a mysterious figure navigating an unusual and dangerous world. Alongside you is Potboy, a lost lamp-like creature whose flame is essential for survival. The world is full of dark monsters that want to extinguish Potboy’s flame, and it’s up to the player to keep it alive. Across five enchanting stories of fire and darkness, players will encounter beauty and terror within a world brought to life through incredible clay animation.
What makes The Midnight Walk special is its handcrafted world. Every detail, from twisted monsters to the trees lining your path, is made from real clay, carefully 3D scanned, and stop-motion animated, giving the game a distinct visual style that blends eerie and beautiful.
The game can be played on two modes: on PlayStation 5 using a standard controller or in full immersion with PlayStation VR 2, using eye-tracking and virtual reality to explore the dark and twisted world in greater detail.
It is scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5 (with VR2 support) and PC via Steam with VR options.
