Fans of story-driven RPGs will soon have another dark fantasy adventure to explore on consoles. Publisher Silver Lining Interactive has announced a new partnership with Psychic Software to bring the gothic role-playing game The Necromancer’s Tale to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2026.

Originally released on PC via Steam, the game stands out for its heavy focus on narrative and player choice. Set in an alternative version of the 18th century, you take on the role of a minor noble who gradually becomes entangled in the dangerous and forbidden practice of necromancy. As the story unfolds, you must balance political maneuvering, secrecy, and manipulation while exploring increasingly dark magical powers.

The game’s world is designed around consequences, with dialogue decisions shaping both relationships and the direction of the story. You can interact with more than 180 characters across a branching narrative that spans over 400,000 words, creating a complex web of intrigue, alliances, and betrayals.

Beyond the story elements, The Necromancer’s Tale also features tactical turn-based combat where you command undead minions alongside traditional party members. Mastering forbidden rituals expands the spellbook, offering new abilities and strategies in battle while reinforcing the theme of power gained at a cost.
