Tiny Roar, the studio working on the upcoming Lou’s Lagoon, has teamed up with publisher Megabit to announce Verdant for Steam, a new coming-of-age survival adventure. The game was revealed during the Wholesome Snack showcase and follows a young adventurer named Sprout as he explores a bright but dangerous world reshaped by an old war and reclaimed by nature.

The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world filled with strange plants and animals. Even though nature has taken over, pieces of 1980s human culture and technology are still scattered around. As Sprout searches for food, useful items, and a sense of who he is, he discovers he carries unusual powers. This infection lets him give or take life essence from the world around him.

Sprout has to survive by crafting, gathering what he needs, and managing hunger, thirst, and rest. At the same time, every action he takes affects the environment and these moment-to-moment decisions can help Sprout stay alive, but they can also permanently change the world.

You will travel through a world stuck in the style of the 1980s while using Sprout’s life-essence abilities to shape your surroundings or protect yourself. As you move forward, you slowly uncover what happened to the world and decide what part Sprout will play in its future.
