May brought us some truly charming and high-quality indie games, including Monster Train 2, 9 Kings, Splitgate 2 – Beta, The Precinct, Cash Cleaner Simulator, and Drop Duchy. June, however, brings a multitude of showcases, new announcements, and never-before-seen titles, but it won’t be lacking in rich releases either. Below, we bring you 12 indie games coming out this month that are definitely worth paying attention to.
POPUCOM is a co-op platform adventure. You are invited to an unknown planet to embark on an exoplanet expedition with your friends. You will face various enemies and utilize interesting items and techniques to eliminate threats and restore the world to its former glory. The game offers two main modes: a narrative-driven story designed for two players and a “Party Mode” for three to four players, perfect for chaotic fun and shared enjoyment.
DELTARUNE is an episodic RPG by Toby Fox, a spin-off of Undertale set in a parallel universe. You control Kris, a teenager in a town full of monsters, who enters a “Dark World” with classmates Susie and Ralsei to seal Dark Fountains and save the world. The game combines turn-based combat with “bullet hell” mechanics. Unlike Undertale, it has only one ending. Chapters 1-2 are currently free on PC, Mac, Switch, and PS4, while Chapters 3-4 will be paid releases.
The Alters is a science-fiction survival game. You play as Jan Dolski, a miner stranded on an inhospitable planet, who manages a mobile base to escape deadly solar radiation. Using Rapidium, you create “Alters” — alternative versions of Jan with unique skills based on different life choices. The game combines base building, resource management, and exploration with a branching narrative, where choices shape Jan’s relationships with his Alters and lead to multiple endings.
Crown Gambit is a narrative tactical RPG. Set in the dark kingdom of Meodred, you lead three paladins—Aliza, Hael, and Rollo—through a chaotic capital city torn apart by a war of succession. You will have to choose a side for the throne, using inherited relics in card-based combat against knights, nobles, and rebels. Your choices shape the story, the paladins’ personalities, and the multiple endings, blending strategy, visual novel elements, and Celtic-inspired graphics by Gobert.
Broken Arrow is a large-scale, real-time tactical wargame developed by Slitherine. Set in a fictional Eastern European conflict, it features US and Russian factions with over 300 customizable units divided into six categories, offering more than 1,500 combinations. You will build armies, deploy them by land, sea, and air, and engage in strategic battles on realistic, large maps like cities and refineries. With deep unit customization, a scenario editor, and 5v5 multiplayer, it combines Company of Heroes-style action with Arma-like realism.
Shuffle Tactics is a roguelite tactical RPG with deckbuilding elements. Set in the cursed kingdom of Asteria, you fight against the Glimmer curse as heroes like Doberknight or Catalina, utilizing strategic card combinations and grid-based positioning. With over 500 cards, 20 helpers, and diverse biomes, it blends elements from games like Final Fantasy Tactics and Slay the Spire for deep combat with high replayability.
DREADZONE is a survival game from the development team Eshed, set in a post-apocalyptic quarantine zone ravaged by the Zeno-29 virus. Players gather resources, craft tools, build shelters, and fight against zombies, mutants, animals, and humans in a harsh open world. With first-person combat, base building, and co-op multiplayer, it offers a tense and atmospheric experience.
Ruffy and the Riverside is an open-world 3D platformer. You play as Ruffy, a bear with the magical SWAP ability which allows him to copy and paste textures—for example, turning ice into lava to solve puzzles and explore the Riverside. He is joined by friends like Pipo the bee, and they fight the villain Groll to save the world’s core. With hand-drawn graphics, fun side quests, and collectibles, it blends Banjo-Kazooie-style charm with innovative mechanics.
