Tripwire Presents, the publishing arm of Tripwire Interactive, has announced a new partnership with the independent studio Arctic Hazard to jointly present the upcoming tactical title Norse. This turn-based strategy project, set in the Viking age, is being developed for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a planned release announced for 2025.
Norse places you in the heart of the Viking age, where you, as the young warrior Gunnar, will embark on an epic quest for revenge. After the traitor Steinarr Far-Spear murdered his father, Jarl Grip, and seized the throne, Gunnar’s path becomes clear: he must rebuild his settlement, win allies, and assemble a mighty warband to restore honor and justice. Every decision will have an impact on the world around him, and the turn-based strategic battles will test your skills.
Arctic Hazard, a studio based in Vestby, Norway, is known for its work on some of the most recognized AAA titles, including Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Syndicate, Origins, World of Tanks, Metro: Exodus, and Age of Conan, so we can expect a very high-quality title. Furthermore, the game offers a rich and historically convincing narrative, which was written by the award-winning author and Sunday Times bestseller writer, Giles Kristian.
