We Harvest Shadows is a unique blend of first-person horror and open-world farming simulation, wrapped in an emotional story that pulls players in from the very beginning. You play as Garrett, a man who decides to leave city life behind and retreat to an abandoned farm, where he hopes to disappear from the world.

Shown with a new trailer at this year’s Gamescom, it was announced that a demo is already available to play on Steam. Each day, Garrett has a list of tasks that help upgrade the farm and drive the story forward. These tasks include repairing the house, caring for livestock, and exploring hundreds of acres of farmland. There’s plenty to discover, including a shed, barn, watchtower, and even a small factory waiting to be explored.

However, Garrett soon realizes that his new farm isn’t as peaceful as it seems. The land is haunted by mysterious beings, some of which are hostile. The game warns players to explore and complete tasks during daylight, as the farm becomes far more dangerous at night. A painting in Garrett’s house changes depending on how much danger he’s in, a crucial warning to stay inside when things get too risky.

From the creator of The First Tree, this game dives deep into Garrett’s psyche, revealing why he feels the need for isolation. Clues scattered across the farm help players piece together Garrett’s story, while cinematic moments add depth to his character, making the narrative both somber and engaging.
