Why So Serious Inc., known for indie hits like Needy Streamer Overload and Touhou Luna Nights, has launched a new indie publisher called Baron Du Juvenile. Alongside this announcement, the studio released two unique horror games on PC via Steam: Slay the Alice and Waiting in the Lime Forest.

Slay the Alice

Slay the Alice is a horror game with a simple yet engaging approach. The game removes complex mechanics like action combat or logical puzzles, focusing exclusively on choices and mouse control. You guide Alice, a young girl who accidentally finds herself in a strange world full of chattering plants and eerie paths.

The game unfolds like a picture book, featuring a roguelike map where every choice leads Alice through diverse routes. The charming pixel art and cute animations contrast with the tense atmosphere to create an experience that is both spooky and sweet. Players are invited to explore this mysterious world and discover multiple endings.

Waiting in the Lime Forest

Set in the suburbs of 1920s America, Waiting in the Lime Forest casts you as Edward, a lawyer determined to clear the name of his friend, Oliver, who has been falsely accused of murder.

Throughout the story, you must make key decisions that influence the outcome. Oliver’s fragile mental state adds extra tension, as every choice can lead to salvation or ruin. The point-and-click mechanics, combined with a multiple-ending system, draw you into a tense thriller where uncovering the truth is paramount.
