Summer Game Fest 2025 delivered its longest showcase yet, and among the standout reveals was Wildgate, a sci-fi shooter from developer Moonshot Games and publisher Dreamhaven. It was presented with a dynamic trailer and confirmed its release date of July 22, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. You won’t have to wait long to try it, as the Open Beta is running from June 9 to June 16 and will feature cross-platform play.

Wildgate plunges you into a colorful yet dangerous corner of the galaxy, merging tactical ship-to-ship combat with fast-paced first-person shooting. You will assemble a crew to explore hazardous environments, gather powerful weapons and ship upgrades, and fight rival teams to secure the Artifact or simply be the last crew standing. The PvPvE structure of the game pits you against both environmental hazards and other teams, creating a mix of strategy and reflexes.

Buzz about the game began even before the event, as the official Wildgate X profile hinted at its appearance at the showcase. Developed under the leadership of former Blizzard head Mike Morhaime, Wildgate leans on the expertise of Moonshot Games to deliver a polished team-based experience. The trailer already showed intense ship battles and on-foot combat, with visuals that stand out against the backdrop of a dangerous galaxy.
