It’s been a while since we’ve heard any updates on the highly ambitious RTS ZeroSpace, developed in part by Croatian studio Ironward alongside Starlance Studios. All we know is that it will appear on July 17 at TactiCon 2025. It’s a game that blends a sci-fi narrative with major decision-making, plus multiplayer and single-player modes, and is expected to release sometime this year.
What sets ZeroSpace apart is its unmatched strategic depth and freedom of choice. You can pick from four main factions, each with 10 units and nine buildings, and combine them with one of five mercenary subfactions. For example, the Endari, dimensionally corrupted Arandi with immense power, or the Edolians, a tree-dwelling species specializing in stealth drone warfare. Add 14 unique heroes with special abilities, and the game provides near-endless combinations for dynamic gameplay across 1v1, 2v2, or free-for-all matches.

ZeroSpace takes place in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way in the year 4050. You play as Prefect Nero of the Protectorate, summoned to the Keeper Council to uncover a cosmic mystery threatening peace among diverse alien and human factions. The game features a vast, living galactic map where single-player, co-op, PvE, and PvP modes intertwine. This shared galaxy, known as the Galactic War, lets you command legions from your flagship, conquer planets, establish footholds, and defend your civilization alongside allies.

The campaign draws inspiration from RPGs like Mass Effect and Baldur’s Gate. With 13 main missions, 14 hero loyalty missions, and 40 side stories, you’re immersed in a choice-driven narrative supported by three hours of cinematic cutscenes and interactive dialogue. Moral dilemmas, such as whether to save a former enemy planet or let it fall, add emotional weight to your strategic decisions. As you travel across diverse planets aboard your upgradable flagship, you’ll recruit heroes, build relationships, and face the consequences of your expansion.
ZeroSpace will be available on PC via Steam.
