Get ready to dive into JDM: Japanese Drift Master with the release of its prologue, JDM: Rise of the Scorpion, and a brand-new teaser trailer. This upcoming title takes players to the fictional Japanese prefecture of Guntama, a location inspired by various authentic Japanese environments. The game offers a realistic racing experience combined with a story presented through manga-style cutscenes.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion serves as a prologue to JDM: Japanese Drift Master, introducing the narrative aspect of the game. You’ll follow the story of Hatori Hasashi and his journey to becoming the legendary Scorpion. Hatori, an exemplary student from a traditional Japanese family, brings his pride and arrogance to the racing scene, facing off against various rivals.
The story unfolds in Guntama, a fictional Japanese prefecture inspired by the mountainous regions of Honshu. Fans of well-known Japanese drifting routes will recognize many similarities to real-world locations. By placing racing tracks and areas close to one another, the game creates a dynamic and diverse open map. In JDM: Rise of the Scorpion, you’ll explore only a portion of the vast world prepared for the full version of JDM: Japanese Drift Master.
The open map in the prologue will feature new, interesting areas and challenging roads. You’ll be able to return to the winding mountain roads around Lake Haikama, known from the demo version, and experience an exceptional racing environment. The route through the Tengai forest offers an ideal setting for practicing and refining your driving skills, with challenging bends and curves that put your drifting abilities to the test.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion will be available for PC via Steam on July 18, while JDM: Japanese Drift Master will release later this year on Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.
