The depths of an alien ocean become even more intense with the official announcement of Subnautica 2. Known for its underwater exploration and survival, the series now expands to include full cooperative multiplayer from launch. Players can dive together, adding a new dimension of teamwork and excitement as they face the game’s eerie creatures.
While multiplayer has been available in the past via mods, Subnautica 2 will be the first in the series to fully embrace co-op at launch. A new trailer shown during the Xbox Partner Showcase in October 2024 confirmed this and revealed that the game will be available on Xbox Game Pass, allowing subscribers to experience the underwater adventure at no extra cost.
For those eager to explore alien oceans, the game will enter Steam Early Access in 2025, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
