New Action-Adventure Blades of Fire Launches in May, Developed by the Creators of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Series

Publisher 505 Games and development studio MercurySteam have announced their new action-adventure Blades of Fire, which will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via the Epic Games Store on May 22nd. MercurySteam is a Spanish development team known for their work on the games in the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow series.

Blades of Fire is set in a fantasy world where you play as Arana de Lire, the last hero who can use steel, and Ads, a young scholar whose knowledge of lost myths and sacred languages can shape their destiny. After Queen Nerea cast a spell that turns steel into stone, only weapons forged from divine metal can stand against her army of monsters.

One of the game’s most prominent elements is the weapon forging system, which allows for the creation of almost infinite combinations. By finding Forge Scrolls and developing forging skills, you can combine different alloys, hilts, runes, and blades to create the perfect weapon for any situation. Each enemy type presents a unique challenge, and choosing the right weapon is crucial for victory.

The game’s combat system is also solid, allowing you to target specific body parts of enemies. Depending on the situation and the enemy’s equipment, you can stab or strike, using various tactics to overcome opponents. Additionally, you will explore massive castles, palaces, and other locations while fighting over 50 enemy types, including the Queen’s guards and monsters.
