Endless Legend 2 will leave Steam Early Access and launch in version 1.0 on September 17, 2026. The full release will also bring Amplitude Studios’ fantasy 4X strategy game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S for the first time.

Version 1.0 will introduce the Sandshapers as the game’s sixth major playable faction. Described as Saiadha’s oldest civilisation, the Sandshapers remember the planet before its surface was covered by water and consider restoring its former desert landscape a sacred responsibility.

The faction will have its own narrative quest alongside unique units, heroes, technologies and traits. Its traits will also be available when designing a custom faction. Amplitude is additionally introducing Rogue Factions, which reinterpret existing groups with different stories and mechanics. The Order of Zelevas is a conquest-focused variation of the Kin of Sheredyn, while the Severed Claw is a Necrophage offshoot that can only replace lost units by enslaving members of other factions.

A new minor faction called the Mangrove of Harmony will complete the announced additions. Created with input from the Amplitude community, the starfish-like group has its own hero, questline, villages, recruitable units, population type and hero skills.

Endless Legend 2 originally entered PC Early Access in September 2025. The turn-based strategy sequel takes place on the oceanic planet Saiadha, where dramatic Tidefall events lower sea levels and expose new land during a campaign.
