At this year’s Future Games Show, developer Irregular Shapes, together with publisher Firesquid, officially announced the upcoming arrival of the city-builder title City Tales – Medieval Era. The game will be available in Steam Early Access on May 22, 2025, while the demo version will return during the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest, running from March 20 to 31.

This medieval city-building simulator features a complex economic system with an impressive array of 50 different resources and over 60 building types. Thanks to an advanced 3D procedural engine, every structure in the game receives a unique appearance, creating a vibrant and dynamic world that evolves organically based on the player’s decisions.

What sets City Tales – Medieval Era apart from other titles in the genre is its narrative aspect. Through interactions with companions and key decision-making, players will develop individual character stories that influence the overall progression of the game. Additionally, during the Early Access phase, the development team plans to continuously improve the game through regular updates. Announced features include expanded construction options, new resources, the development of a companion system with additional narrative elements, as well as new maps and user experience enhancements.
