Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition is proving to be a major commercial success, having sold over 250,000 units since its release on July 15, 2025. This significant milestone for the remastered classic RTS game shows the strong dedication of its community. To thank these players and keep the momentum going, the developers have announced a series of new content updates planned for the rest of the year.

The game will receive two major post-release updates in both the autumn and winter of 2025. These updates will include a mix of free new content and optional paid DLC. One of the paid additions will be a new five-mission economic campaign set along the Great River, along with new computer-controlled opponents to challenge players.

The updates will introduce more gameplay elements designed to appeal to both long-time fans and new players. These include a new co-op trail, which allows players to team up, as well as additional maps and external editing tools for greater customization. These new features aim to expand the game’s depth and ensure its long-term appeal.
