Escape from Duckov has exploded onto the scene, selling over 500,000 copies and reaching a peak concurrent player count of over 150,000 on Steam in its first three days. Developed by Team Soda and published by Bilibili, the game is a humorous parody of the extraction shooter genre, specifically of Escape from Tarkov, reimagining the concept in a “duck’s world.”

The singleplayer PvE top-down looter-shooter has gathered immediate critical and commercial success, earning an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam with 95% positive reviews out of a total of 7475 submissions. This success is particularly notable for an indie title currently priced affordably at 17.99 $ (with a limited-time 12% discount to 15.83 $ until October 30, 2025).

Players are tasked with exploring procedurally varied maps, including farms, warehouses, and forests, to loot crates and barrels for resources. The gameplay focuses on fast-paced shootouts against enemy ducks and features a system for upgrading weapons at workbenches. The dynamic weather and smooth, accessible PvE focus have been key points of praise from fans, who appreciate the game’s humor and ability to deliver the looting experience without the toxicity often associated with multiplayer rivals.
