Aspyr has announced the delay of its upcoming cyberpunk immersive simulation game remake Deus Ex Remastered. The title will no longer meet its previously planned release date of February 5, 2026, and has been postponed to an unannounced future date. The game is set to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

The publisher released a statement acknowledging community feedback following the game’s reveal, citing the need to ensure a quality experience for players:

“We’ve listened to what you had to say, and in order to better meet fan expectations and deliver the best possible experience for players, Deus Ex Remastered will no longer launch on February 5, 2026,” the full message from Aspyr read. The company assured customers that all existing pre-orders would be fully refunded and stated: “We look forward to sharing more updates with you when the time comes.”

The delay comes amidst underlying community concerns regarding Aspyr’s track record with remasters and ports. While the studio’s project choices are often praised, reflecting a genuine passion for classic titles, their practical execution has sometimes resulted in issues, leading to skepticism about their ability to deliver a top-tier remaster that fully satisfies long-time fans of the original game.

Despite the skepticism surrounding Aspyr’s remasters, a recent, more accessible version of the original Deus Ex is currently available for players on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The upgraded PS2 port, which was added to the classic category, has improved performance, particularly in shortening map transition times that plagued the original PlayStation 2 version.
