Publisher DANGEN Entertainment has announced I SHALL NAME THE DEAD, a new narrative adventure from writer Tiago Rech, best known for TELEFORUM, I DID NOT BUY THIS TICKET, and DROWNED LAKE. The atmospheric horror game is scheduled to launch for PC via Steam in Early 2027.

You take on the role of Imaculada, a woman cursed by a mysterious force known as the Worm. As the parasite slowly consumes her from within, it also grants her a supernatural gift. After claiming one of her eyes, it allows her to communicate with the dead, setting her on a mission to restore the identities of forgotten souls.

The story unfolds in a cemetery where countless nameless remains have been left without burial or recognition. By speaking with skulls, investigating clues, and uncovering lost identities, players help the deceased find peace before the Worm claims what remains of Imaculada’s humanity.

Gameplay combines exploration with investigative mechanics and a unique dialogue system. As the Worm’s influence grows, it begins corrupting conversations, forcing players to burn matches to purify dialogue options or risk allowing the curse to spread further.

Featuring hand-drawn artwork by Lirio Ninotchka, art director of I DID NOT BUY THIS TICKET, the game embraces magical realism rather than traditional survival horror. Instead of relying on jump scares, I SHALL NAME THE DEAD aims to deliver an unsettling atmosphere through its story, visuals, and themes of memory, loss, and identity.
