Team Junkfish has announced that first-person stealth survival horror game Wilderdark will launch for PC via Steam on November 3. Players can try its atmospheric island setting early through a demo available now.

Wilderdark begins with the player crash-landing on an unnatural island overrun by hostile wildlife. A mysterious ectoparasitic organism is infecting its dinosaurs and plant life, transforming the ecosystem into something far more dangerous.

You arrive on behalf of an organization searching for immortality. Your mission involves documenting the local ecosystem, gathering biological samples and discovering what happened to several missing expeditions. One of those groups was led by the protagonist’s parents, giving the investigation a more personal connection.

Survival will depend heavily on stealth, as even a small sound can alert the island’s apex predators. Rather than fighting every creature directly, players must observe their surroundings, remain hidden and carefully manage the few resources available after the crash.

Photography also plays an important role in the investigation. You can document new discoveries, search the environment for clues and craft essential tools from materials found across the island. However, the true origin of the ectoparasites and their possible effects on humans remain unknown.
