Copycat is a heartwarming narrative game that explores themes of rejection, belonging, and the true essence of home

A small, three-member team from Australia consisting of Samantha, Kostia, and Kiwi, presents a game that explores the special bond between people and their pets. Through colorful visuals, Copycat guides us through the complex emotions of people and brings a unique combination of ethics, aesthetics, and wonder.

We follow Dawn, a shelter cat who would rather be in the wild than be adopted again. However, when she meets Olive, a lonely old woman grieving the loss of her own pet, Dawn changes her mind. Through their togetherness, Dawn and Olive become close friends, helping each other heal and find a new beginning. However, when Olive falls ill, an unknown cat takes Dawn’s place, forcing her to leave home. Thus, as players, we will try to help Dawn as she wanders the city to find her way home.

Key Features:

  • Reflect on themes of home, loneliness, and belonging through a complex story in three acts told over three hours of narration.
  • Experience the world from a cat’s perspective: climb trees and rooftops, confront dogs, and stroll the neighborhood with controls designed for a feline experience. Be mischievous, react to every movement, knock over objects, hide in boxes, and try to steal some food from your owner.
  • Expertly designed graphics by award-winning Art Director Kostia Liakhov. Enjoy atmospheric locations, dramatic scenes, and beautiful effects, optimized for the best performance.
  • This is a fully voice-acted adventure with rich dialogue, featuring music by Daniel Bunting.

Copycat will be available sometime this year for PC (Steam), Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
