Team17 Digital and Piraknights Games have unveiled a new gameplay trailer for Sintopia, a game that combines city-building simulation with god-game mechanics and dark humor. A demo version, available during the City Builder & Colony Sim Fest on Steam, offers the first glimpse into the game’s hellish bureaucracy, although it’s still in pre-alpha development.
The game blends asymmetric mechanics between two worlds: in the Overworld, a civilization of quirky creatures constantly makes mistakes, while in Hell, you must manage punished souls, keep track of expenses, and generate profit to sustain the infernal empire. As the ruler of Hell, you can use administrative magic to influence the world above. Construction mechanics allow you to shape hellish caverns to your liking, while daily bureaucratic tasks can be delegated to employed demons.
A key element of the game is tracking the seven deadly sins — souls must undergo “re-education” to prevent corruption from accumulating, which could trigger a demonic invasion. The demo showcases all currently available content, providing insight into a unique concept that merges strategic management with a touch of dark humor.
