According to industry insider NateTheHate, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is still planned for release on Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2026. The insider originally mentioned the port earlier this year and has now reaffirmed that development remains on track.

Released in April 2025, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 quickly became one of the most talked-about RPGs of the year. Developed by Sandfall Interactive, the game earned praise for its striking Belle Époque-inspired world, unique blend of turn-based and real-time combat, and memorable story centered around the mysterious Paintress.

Its success naturally sparked questions about a potential Nintendo version, especially after the launch of Switch 2. While neither Nintendo nor publisher Kepler Interactive has officially announced a port, the possibility has remained a popular topic among fans. Interestingly, Sandfall Interactive has previously expressed interest in bringing the game to Nintendo’s new hardware, suggesting that the idea was certainly being considered internally.

As things stand, players should still treat the information as a rumor until an official announcement arrives. However, if NateTheHate’s track record is anything to go by, Switch 2 owners may want to keep an eye on future Nintendo Direct presentations for potential news.

For now, the acclaimed RPG remains available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, but a Nintendo debut may not be too far away.
