Outbound, the cozy open-world survival crafting game from Square Glade Games and Silver Lining Games, has officially been delayed, giving the team more time to polish the experience before release. Originally planned for release on April 23, 2026 across PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo platforms, the launch has now been pushed to May 14, 2026.

According to the developers, the delay comes down to a late-stage issue discovered during final development, one that could have negatively impacted the overall player experience. Rather than rushing the release, the team opted to take additional time to ensure the game launches in the best possible state across all platforms.

In Outbound, players begin their journey with a simple electric camper van, gradually transforming it into a fully customized mobile home while exploring a near-future world. The game leans heavily into the van-life fantasy, encouraging slow-paced exploration, resource gathering, and sustainable living. Players can generate renewable energy through solar, wind, or water sources, grow their own food, and build various workstations inside the van, all while traveling across diverse biomes either solo or in co-op.

As part of the announcement, the developers also confirmed that the free demo will remain available longer than expected, now running until May 12, 2026.
