Disney Has Removed Multiple Games from Steam and GOG

A large number of games published by Disney were recently removed from Steam and GOG without any warning or announcement. Because of this, they can no longer be purchased through the digital platform, although players who already bought them can still download and play them without restrictions.

Among the removed games are family-oriented titles based on popular films such as Chicken Little, Bolt, and G-Force. Several games connected to the Star Wars franchise have also been pulled, including Star Wars Rebellion and Star Wars: Dark Forces.

Of course, the reasons for this can vary, from licensing issues to maintenance costs. In this case, since we are talking about Disney, it is almost certainly related to licensing problems. Although removal from sale does not mean a game disappears from the libraries of existing owners, such decisions unfortunately make it harder for new players to access and discover these titles.

Considering that Disney has already shown a tendency to remove games from its catalog without any prior notice, this development should not come as a complete surprise. Who knows, maybe they are secretly preparing remakes or remasters of some of these titles.
