Dispatch stands out for how smoothly it mixes binge-worthy, TV-style storytelling with fun, addictive gameplay, creating an “interactive cartoon” that brings back the same nostalgic feeling as The Wolf Among Us or The Walking Dead. Its dispatching minigame is great, a simple but clever puzzle where combining heroes’ skills and personalities leads to funny, unexpected outcomes. The episodic releases (two per week) also keep players excited and coming back without feeling burned out.
For those who don’t know, Dispatch is an episodic superhero workplace comedy adventure from AdHoc Studio, a team of former Telltale Games writers and directors. It combines story-driven choices with light management gameplay, putting players in the role of a struggling, mech-suited hero who runs a chaotic dispatch center for misfit superheroes in modern-day Los Angeles.
Its popularity skyrocketed after launch, hitting over 65,000 players at once on Steam and getting more than 15,000 reviews in just 10 days. The popularity came from word-of-mouth, streamer support (like MoistCr1TiKaL’s voice role bringing in his 15+ million fans), and the ex-Telltale team attracting fans of The Walking Dead and Borderlands.
It’s also landing at just the right time. It’s been years since we’ve had a true Telltale-style adventure with real branching choices, and players have been craving story-driven games where decisions actually matter — shaping relationships, team outcomes, and endings in meaningful ways. Dispatch fills that gap with great writing and choices that carry real weight, bringing back that nostalgic feeling while proving this kind of storytelling still works in today.
Dispatch launched on October 22nd 2025, on PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5, with new episodes dropping in pairs each week until the finale on November 12, 2025. Episodes 1–4 are out now, adding up to about 3–4 hours of playtime so far.
