It seems Tides of Tomorrow impressed many during the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest. This is a multiplayer narrative adventure set in the post-apocalyptic world of Elynda, where a massive flood has submerged the land and survivors are struggling to find a cure for a deadly plastification. The game looks like Waterworld meets The Walking Dead, but with less Kevin Costner and more existential dread.

The game’s unique twist is that it’s a multiplayer narrative adventure, which sounds like a fancy way of saying that you and your friends can ruin each other’s storylines in real time. You choose your own adventures, but with the added bonus of being able to blame your friends for your bad decisions. The trailer also hints at Twitch integration, meaning you’ll be able to watch your favourite streamers make terrible choices live.

As you explore Elynd, you’ll encounter a wide cast of characters, each with their own moods, motivations, and perspectives on the fate of the planet. Choose your allies wisely, as every decision can turn friends into enemies. Also, keep a close eye on your friends’ adventures, as their actions will impact your story, forcing you to navigate an unpredictable world.

Tides of Tomorrow does not yet have a specific release date, but it will be available on PC via Steam.
